ATCA and Spitzer Observations of the Binary Protostellar Systems CG 30 and BHR 71

چکیده
We present interferometric observations with resolution of ∼ 3′′ of the isolated, low-mass protostellar double cores CG 30 and BHR 71 in the N2H + (1− 0) line and at 3 mm dust continuum, using the Australian Telescope Compact Array (ATCA). The results are complemented by infrared data from the Spitzer Space Telescope. In CG 30, the 3 mm dust continuum images resolve two compact sources with a separation of ∼ 21. ′′7 (∼ 8700 AU). In BHR 71, strong dust continuum emission is detected at the position of the mid-infrared source IRS1, while only weak emission is detected from the secondary mid-infrared source IRS2. Assuming standard gas to dust ratio and optically thin 3 mm dust continuum emission, we derive hydrogen gas masses of 0.05− 2.1M for the four sub-cores. N2H + (1− 0) line emission is detected in both CG 30 and BHR 71, and is spatially associated with the thermal dust continuum emission. IRAS 11590 – 6452 in BHR 71 – a binary protostellar system ?
New AAT near-infrared and SEST CO J = 2 → 1 observations are combined with existing ISO mid-infrared and ATCA cm radio continuum observations to examine the protostellar content of the Bok globule BHR 71. Together with observations of Herbig-Haro objects, these data show: (1) Two protostellar sources, IRS1 and IRS2, with a separation of ∼17 (3400 AU) are located within BHR 71. (2) Each protosta...

متن کامل1 Se p 20 09 The Spitzer c 2 d Survey of Nearby Dense Cores VII : Chemistry and Dynamics in L 43
We present results from the Spitzer Space Telescope and molecular line observations of 9 species toward the dark cloud L43. The Spitzer images and molecular line maps suggest it has a starless core and a Class I protostar evolving in the same environment. CO depletion is seen in both sources, and DCO+ lines are stronger toward the starless core. With a goal of testing the chemical characteristi...
متن کامل4406 : a radio - infrared comparison
IC 4406 is a large (about 100×30) southern bipolar planetary nebula, composed by two elongated lobes, extending from a bright central region, where there is evidence for the presence of a large torus of gas and dust. In this poster we show new observations of this source performed with IRAC (Spitzer Space Telescope) and the Australia Telescope Compact Array. Although the possibility for faint e...
متن کاملSMA CO (2–1) Observations of CG30: a Protostellar Binary System with a High-Velocity Quadrupolar Molecular Outflow
We present interferometric observations in the CO(2–1) line and at 1.3mm dust continuum of the low-mass protostellar binary system in the cometary globule CG30, using the Submillimeter Array. The dust continuum images resolve two compact sources (CG30N and CG30S), with a linear separation of∼ 8700AU and total gas masses of∼ 1.4 and∼ 0.6M⊙, respectively. With the CO images, we discover two high-...
